Yes it is official!

Remember to click on the photo's to make them bigger! ;-p.

I am attempting to build a close (As I can get) replica of Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstein! And the finished result will be listed on ebay!

Parts list:

-Strat style body routed for a Floyd rose
-Maple neck with maple fretboard
-1971 US quarter
-GFS EVH HUMBUCKER
-Floyd Rose Tremolo
-Chrome Tuners
-Chrome locking nut and retainer
-Eye hooks for strap
-Pickguard (to be broken!)
-Vintage switch
-Tone knob
-500K CTS pot.
-Red single coil for dummy neck p'up
-Bike reflectors

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Guitar to finished in the famous paint job!

Pretty much, what I 'm going to do, is do he paintjob, then relic it, and add all the parts as per the original. Neck to be relice'ed, and have the current logo rubbed off and refinished.

The parts I have got so far are the body, paint, reflectors, and tone knob. Progress updates will be posted to this blog. The picture below is what I am aiming for (yeah right!)

Right, this is what I have done so far!

This is the original body, flatted for painting.

To add to the challenge, the input hole on this body was underneath, so to get it accurate I had to fill the hole and chisel out a rout for the strat input. The picture below is of the area about to be chiseled!

The chiseled hole.

The filled hole.,

Front of the body painted black and masked for the white.

The back.

Tada! Tape removed! Phase 1 complete.

Back of the body after final coat plus relic-ing, minus the reflectors.

The back with the reflectors. (excuse the amateur photography)

Close up of the eye hook, I only have one at the mo!

And the finished relic-ed front!!That's it for now, but more updates coming when have more parts.
