Long time no post! I am still doing the
TOPSECRETPROJ, but have very nearly finished (as long as nothing else goes wrong!). Anyways, the SS project has materialised out of me buying an old encore "project guitar" on
ebay. It was £10! I couldn't resist it! It did have writing all over it however (in permanent marker) which probably put some people off. But I've got the worst off. It's quite an old one, with vintage electronics, staggered pickups etc etc. I think all of it was there bar the
trem. It's quite interesting actually, as a standard
strat type
trem is too small for the hole where the bridge goes. Plus the way it is drilled means it originally had a 2-point
trem, I'm thinking something along the lines of a
floyd rose type design. Anyway The body and vintage loaded
pickguard is on
ebay, as I don't want to use them in the project. But I have kept the neck, which I will use! I've just got to finish sanding the red headstock back to the maple, and refinish it in a natural look.
The parts I plan to use in it are as follows:
-Sunburst body,
overpainted in alpine white and relic-ed so the sunburst shows through.
-Maple Neck w/ maple fretboard and
skunkstripe.
-
CTS electrics in a
HSS pickguard.
-Gold
trem and hardware.
- Gold
EVH GFS bridge
humbucker.
-
Neovin 09 noiseless
strat neck pickup.
-No Middle pickup in the style of Ritchie
Blackmore.
This is just a rough list.
Here is a concept picture of what I want the guitar to look like.
