After the project laying dormant for a while, I thought fuck it, I'm gonna make these into the kind of guitar it deserves. So I decided to paint the body daphne blue (Used good ole Bermuda blue ford car paint). Then decided to finish it with the same poly varnish as before.... BIG mistake! It fucked the finish up completely. I pondered for ages about what to do, without having to sand it all down again and buy new paint etc etc. So as you do, I soaked it in a bath of coffee! Which with the cracking finish made it look really old and used. Good things can come out of a disaster!! So then to finish off the ageing process I completely and utterly relic-ed it, Side wear/buckle rash etc. Then I thought: "fuck me, this actually looks pretty decent!". Anyway, after a positive outcome, I was inspired to to finish the beauty! So all the parts went on, soldering was done, drilling was done etc etc, and then the guitar was done! I really like it, and it's a rare thing when I actually like something I have made, as I am a bit of a perfectionist. I mean this is far from perfect, but I love it! The pickups do sound very stratty as well which is a bonus!
Here are some pictures!
