I have come across a slight problem :s, the neck needed to made more shallow, but i cut it a bit too much, all is not lost though, the friendly people at the UK Guitar Builders forum came up witha solution, that i glue a block of wood back to the neck and start over, the glue is drying now, so fingers crossed!
I like these lyrics from the Pantera song: Message in Blood:
Theres a place that I keep deep inside me
It can trigger my mind
All along I knew it has been with me
Since I was just a child
I just summon power within my soul
It has given me life, beyond life I take
Blame for my murderous problem my signature
Always reminds
Its a message in blood
Its your cryptic warning
Within the message in blood
Marks the years of pain,
And your godforsaken ending to life
Im provoked into sick confrontations, brutal
Time after time, bed of nails, suffocation,
Lifes ending, slay in different designs
One mans misery is another mans mystery
No one cares to understand my
Demented means
Sticks and stones can break all your
Brittle bones, epitaph written at your feet
Its a message in blood
Its your cryptic warning
Within the message in blood
Marks the years of pain,
And your godforsaken ending to life

Plan:
Step One:
Prepare the body, by weathering it using sandpaper etc. Then fix the straplocks.
Step Two:
Attach the bridge and tailpiece before attaching the neck to work out the correct neck angle, then attach the bolt on neck.
Step 3: Attach the machineheads, and try a string or two to see what the feel is like, if needs be adjust the action.
Step 4: Add the Pickups, starting with the neck! so that you can place the wires through the bridge cavity before adding the bridge pickup. Do all the electrics. and add the strings and then hopefully you shall have a good woody weatherman style guitar!

New guitar project.
Right this is the guitar project, that i mentioned in my last post. This is for my weathered white custom sg. For now i will just mention the parts. And I will post pictures of the parts and the stage by stage building pictures, when my parts have all arrived. The body is solid alder, unlike the mahogany bodies of the Gibson SG's. The body is painted white, which i do plan to wear some off to give it that used look. The Neck is a Gibson style one, with rosewood fingerboard, and pearl inlays. The back of the neck is white aswell. It will have black machineheads, black Tune-o-Matic bridge and tailpiece. Fat PAF neck pickup, and a Duncan Invader in the bridge. CTS electrics, white pearl pickguard.
This a rough basis to the guitar i want to build (The white worn one), but there are lots of differences. I think the body is made of mahogany, and he has the white invader. I am unsure of the neck p'up.

I will post pictures when I have all the parts!

Hello!
Hello! My name is David, and i have started this blog, to keep note on how my guitar building projects are coming along, sharing what I have done, and name the parts etc. I have built one guitar, which was my first attempt, but to be honest I completely cocked it up, the neck was a bit wonky, and the bridge and tailpiece were completely out of line! I would post pictures, but it has kind of been salvaged now and its parts used on other things. But i am soon to begin my second project, which hopefully WILL be a success! I am aiming to make a similar guitar to Corrosion of Conformity's Woody Weatherman, which is a worn looking white sg, made by ESP i think :s. This is just my little intro though, I will start talking about Project 2 in the next post. Oh I almost forgot Rants and Cynical moanings may also be fired into this blog.
